MS&E 72SI: “Recreating Silicon Valley” provides a forum for Stanford students interested in international entrepreneurship to study the lessons of successful start-ups while simultaneously working with an entrepreneur abroad to gain real entrepreneurial experience. Students will read case studies of successful start-ups and learn about intellectual property management, venture capital, and effective communications strategies with investors and customers. At the end of the 10-week course, in lieu of a final exam, students will deliver a business plan they have written to a panel of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and investors. Students in this year’s class will be matched with aspiring entrepreneurs from Russia for their quarter-long business plan project.
